Getting rid of an old sofa in Swanage shouldn't mean wrestling it down the stairs and hiring a van. With stone cottages and Victorian villas common across the area — from Herston, Langton Matravers and Worth Matravers — narrow hallways and tight doorways are par for the course. We collect sofas of any size from your ground floor, load them onto our van, and take them away. Small seaside town on the Isle of Purbeck. High proportion of retirees and second homes. Seasonal tourist population doubles the town in summer. That means we see everything from rental turnovers to family home upgrades. Reusable sofas go to local charities. Everything else is recycled responsibly —
While the van's there: add a mattress (£40), bed frame (£35), or bags of rubbish (£12/bag)
Better value
Your sofa + call-out = £114 total. A half load is £179 — just £65 more to clear the whole room.

Wareham Recycling Centre is 9.0 miles from central Swanage. You can take a sofa there, but you'll need a van or trailer — and that means applying for a free permit at least 5 working days in advance. Saturday mornings are the busiest time, so expect queues. Dorset address proof required. Most people find it easier to book a TipRun collection — we pick up from your door and save you the trip.
Many older properties with narrow doorways and steep steps. The Purbeck Hills mean some properties are on slopes. Access roads can be narrow. For sofa removal specifically, please make sure we can get the sofa through your front door or have it outside ready. If the sofa came in through the door, it'll come out the same way. Town centre has limited parking. Residential areas have on-street. Summer traffic can cause delays on the A351.
